I have had a very stressful time over the last few months most of it non football related, running a business, working full time and taking the responsibility of running this outstanding football club takes everything out of you.

The FA say that being a Chairman of a grass roots football team should take 3-5 hours a week, I assure you it doesn’t, it takes far more of my time than perhaps it should, however, I love this club, I love that we have over 200 kids benefiting from the volunteer coaches, every single one of them giving up there valuable time to give kids opportunities and a chance to grow and shine.

As we approach the AGM on Sunday I want to put on record my thanks to every single volunteer, our committee, our bar staff, our sponsors and our First team and Management - you have all been unbelievably supportive over the last few months and without which I am not sure I would be able to continue.

I am delighted at the first teams progress this year it is nothing short of incredible what they have achieved so far in such a short space of time. It just goes to show that Dev and his team behind him fully deserved his chance at this level despite reservations from others.

We have achieved so much in just over a year, a new fence, a refurbished bar, new lighting, new sponsors a completely new first team and there are further plans in place for next year.

I hope that the AGM on Sunday will see this fantastic group of volunteers on the committee continue, if you feel like you could spare some time to help with the club going forward please do pop down to the club and put your name forward for committee.
