Bloomer's Retained By Janes

Bloomer's Retained By Janes

Club Admin27 Jul 2024 - 12:53

Jake Bloomer is the latest player to be retained from last season's squad to be retained by Danny Janes.

Bloomer, who broke through with Fairfield Villa in the Midland Football League, first joined Pershore Town at the beginning of last season.

The former Bromsgrove Sporting, Sutton Coldfield and Studley defender featured sixteen times for The Plums last season in the Hellenic League Division.

After representing both Bromsgrove Sporting and Sutton Coldfield during the 2021/22 season, Bloomer joined Studley to see out the season winning the Hellenic League Division One title with eighteen appearances.

The following season Jake featured twenty-two times for Studley in Midland League Premier Division before making the switch to The Plums for the Club's return to Step Five.

"Jake is the only player we have retained from last season who I class as someone who wasn't our player originally, and that speaks a lot about his ability and his hunger to play under pressure." said Janes.

"I spoke with Jake and explained to him how surprised I was by him. I meant that in the best possible way, the way he has adapted to our philosophy and his desire to be part of the plans this season have been fantastic.

"A lot of new players have come in and it's clear to players that the competition will be fierce, it's very easy for players to walk away from that environment.

"Jake has thrived and the way he has trained has been right up there with the best, his performances in games have also been to a high level.

"Jake's mentality of enjoying defending is a trait I really like and something that is going out of the game in my opinion. He is aggressive and competes superbly. He has then complicated that side of the game with his quality on the ball and his building of attacks.

"I look forward to seeing Jake in this new look side and the impact he can have on the team."

Bloomer said he's excited for the season ahead and seeing what the club can go onto achieve with the standards that have been set early doors.

"I'm really excited to get the season underway at Pershore again." said Bloomer.

"Everything about this club is something that I want to be around, the lads, fans, management and people behind the scenes. There's so many people that just make this such a special club.

"When DJ messaged me about this season, it was definitely something I couldn't say no to.

"Just look at what DJ and TM did a few seasons back, that says it all, who doesn't want to be part of that, the standards they have set is so exciting and I can't wait to try and achieve some great things with them and the team.

"Like I said before, the standards the management have set is from a very professional outlook which will work us all to out limits and with the lads they have been able to retain and the lads we've brought in I know we are all up for the challenge.

"Just going off pre-season I know I'm going to enjoy my time at the club, we've worked extremely hard but enjoyed ourselves whilst doing it.

"Let's get this season underway."
