Following a conversation with Danny Janes, Sam Clark has confirmed he'd be taking up an offer to play at Step Four for the 2024/25 Season.

Clark, who first joined Pershore Town for the 2018/19 season, has featured for the Football Club over one hundred times and scored forty-nine goals.

Sam played a key role in the upturn of Pershore Town's success following Danny Janes' appointment during the 2021/22 season, scoring sixteen times from midfield as The Plums lifted three cups whilst falling short in the Hellenic League Division One play-offs.

The following season, with Pershore Town crowned Hellenic League Division One champions, Clark would scored on six occasions in twenty one games whilst travelling back from his final year at Bristol University.

Lewis Marston retained the services of Clark at Pershore returned to Step Five last season, with eight goals in twenty seven games, Sam was a key part of The Plums' early success.

The midfield powerhouse left Pershore in January to go travelling and whilst there was hope of Sam's return for the 2024/25 Season, and approach from Step Four has proven too good to turn down.

"Sam has been away travelling so didn't finish the season with the club last season." said Janes.

"He was a player that we wanted to retain for the forthcoming season however and I felt we could have got him back to his best.

"When speaking to Sam, he was open and honest in that he'd had an approach from a Step Four side, he confirmed that the lure of Step Four Football was something he wanted to pursue.

"We would never stand in the way of a player who wants to challenge themselves, I admire any player who wants to play as high as they can.

"Sam knows that the door is always open for him at Pershore, he has been a great servant of the Football Club over many years.

"We look forward to seeing his progress and wish him all the best."

On departing the club; Sam Clark wanted to thank everybody involved at Pershore Town for the support over the years.

"I've really enjoyed every minute of being at Pershore, it's a really special Club and one that massively makes you feel at home from the off." said Clark.

"Over the years I've had the chance to move on and it's never been something that has interested me but now that I've finished Uni, I think now is the right time that I give Step Four a real go.

"I want to wish the club all the best for the future and it's certainly a result I'll be looking out for each week."
