We've saved that little bit of magic till last as Danny Janes welcomes the retention of Petar Tonchev.

Petar, who is one of the most experienced in the squad, moved to Pershore Town from FC Stratford following Janes' appointment in November 2021.

Now closing in on one hundred games for The Plums, alongside Bulgaria, Petar has also played football in Greece before moving to England.

Once a professional in Bulgaria, Tonchev moved to England and after originally training with Stratford Town he signed for FC Stratford for game time.

Following Janes' appointment as FC Stratford manager, Petar was retained after highly impressing all at the Football Club, despite the language barrier at the time.

The wide player then moved across to Pershore Town in November 2021, scoring twenty four goals for The Plums over two and a half season.

Tonchev played a huge role in the clubs success, scoring crucial goals at important times and being a nuisance for opposition defenders

"The Bulgarian Wizard is truly a magician when it comes to ability." said Janes.

"I first met Petar when I was a player at FC Stratford, he gave me a torrid time in training and it was obvious the ability he had.

"He was the first player who followed me to Pershore Town when we moved across and he has been excellent for the Club.

"In terms of game intelligence and technical ability, he is easily one of the best players in the league.

"Petar can pick up spaces that disorganise teams and allows us to play through the lines. He can deliver that final pass at the right time as well as scoring his fair share of goals.

"Petar is a player I completely trust in relation to performance levels and the consistency of performances he can produce.

"The way he plays the game mirrors how I see the game. I am delighted he has decided to stay on for another year and I know the fans will be too."

After committing to The Plums for the forthcoming season, Petar is looking forward to the chance to work with DJ once again.

"I am happy that I will have the opportunity to play one more season for Pershore Town FC, I feel at home here." said Tonchev.

"I am excited for the upcoming season and the opportunity to work with Danny and his team once again.

"I like the dedication and the professionalism with which they work and the goals that he has set for himself.

"I think we have formed a very good team here and we will look ahead to a positive season."
