Harlie Price Joins The Plums

Harlie Price Joins The Plums

Club Admin16 Jul 2024 - 11:00

Danny Janes has worked hard over the summer to secure the signing of striker, Harlie Price.

Price, who has featured for Cheltenham Saracens, Malvern Town and Brimscombe & Thrupp recently, wasn't short of offers for the forthcoming season.

The front man has also featured for Shortwood United and Bishop's Cleeve previously whilst there was a short spell at Oxfordshire club, North Leigh.

After a spell of playing up the pyramid, Price returned to former club Cheltenham Saracens in the Hellenic League ahead of the 2018/19 season, scoring thirty-two goals in an equal amount of games.

The following year for 'Sarries', Harlie scored fifteen in twenty-three games before joining Brimscombe & Thrupp for the 2020/21 season.

There were injuries along the way for the goalscorer but thirty-two goals in forty-three games during the 2021/22 season would alert a number of clubs.

Harlie stayed loyal to Brimscombe & Thrupp, starting the following year with the club but eventually moving to Malvern Town to help the club secure promotion from the Hellenic League Premier Division.

Injuries cut short his playing time with Malvern and Harlie returned to familiar territory last season, scoring eleven goals in thirty games from 'Brimmy'.

Three of those eleven goals came against The Plums, Harlie scoring in all three fixtures between the two sides last season.

Janes had targeted Harlie early on and worked hard alongside Assistant Manager, Tom Milward, to get this one over the line.

"Harlie is a player that Tom had mentioned to me on numerous occasions." said Janes.

"Tom had watched Harlie throughout last season and tracked his goal record.

"Harlie's pedigree as a Number 9 is what we felt we needed if we are to challenge to win this league.

"He has played at a high level and has always scored goals where ever he has been. He can score all types of goals and with how we play in terms of our principles, we feel this will compliment Harlie with the chances we can create for him.

"Harlie received a lot of interest from various teams in this league, which shows the reputation he has that so many clubs who will be in and around us wanted his services.

"I was delighted when he agreed to sign for us because we aren't the easiest club to play for. We demand a lot from the players and how they approach their football.

"Harlie could have taken the easy route with the other teams where he could just turn up and play, their standards are no where near ours but he wanted to challenge himself and he knows we can get the best out of him.

"He's settled into the group fantastically, he is still learning around how we want to play so naturally with more games his performance will become more fluid.

"I am really looking forward to the levels he can reach with us."

Harlie Price was full of positives after confirming himself as a Pershore Town player ahead of the 2024/25 Season.

"I am really excited to become a Pershore Town player." said Harlie.

"DJ and TM always impressed me from a far with the results they have had previously and having friends who have played in their sides before really made the decision to come here an easy one for me.

"Once I met with them myself I had an instant buzz for it and felt like the environment they create would suit me.

"From the squad of players that have been assembled right down to the finer training, and match day, details I think we are in for a really positive season.

"I have played this level and know it well, so I am just really excited to get stuck into the league campaign now and play a part in this next chapter for the Football Club."
