Sporting Club Inkberrow were the visitors to the Recruit 12 Community Stadium yesterday afternoon, with former Pershore Town player Umit Eminoglu leading the Eagles.
It was the away side that took the lead mid-way through the first half but an Aidan Clark finish just before the end of the first half levelled the game.
With the second half goalless, the two sides shared the points in this one with Danny Janes' side still in search of their first win of the 2024/25 Season.
"I am disappointed with the result. Inkberrow came with a plan to frustrate us, sit in a low block and deny space in behind." said Janes.
"have to praise how well they executed that plan, I thought their players and their back four were excellent.
"We needed to adjust our play slightly to further threaten the compactness of Inkberrow. I felt first half the decision making was not consistent around when to play forwards.
"At half-time we addressed that and for the first 20 minutes I thought we looked a lot more threatening.
"Then we seemed to stop doing what was working towards the end of the game which meant we never really threatened their goal.
"I expect a lot more from the forward players. We have so much quality at our disposal but they aren’t producing those moments of quality they are capable of.
"We need to improve and do more, it is something I am really enjoying in terms of reflecting and assessing our game.
"We are used to winning games here at Pershore Town, so I will embrace this spell where we aren’t quite doing enough to win games.
"The players are desperate to reach the levels they are capable of. Myself and the management team will do everything we can to get them to those levels."
