Pershore Town Council and Pershore Town Football Club have concluded due diligence to enable continuation of the club’s replacement external fencing. Funded by the Football Foundation, the new fence is an important step towards future-proofing the club to meet requirements of the football pyramid.
As landlord to Pershore Town Football Club for part of King George's Fields, Pershore Town Council were initially involved in agreeing an open replacement fence design. The subsequent closed fence design resulted from on-site discussions held by the club with the Football Foundation, aimed at improving safety and security.
Individual views about design will always vary, and King George's Field is a cherished recreational asset for the community. That's why due diligence was applied in addressing planning, safety, flooding, and environmental concerns. This process, to allow for reassurances from the Environment Agency and Wychavon District Council's planning experts, sees proceeding with the club's revised fencing design as the practical option, and a shared commitment to acting in the community’s best interests.
