Pershore Town return to cup action this weekend in the Isuzu FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round, welcoming Chelmsley Town to the That Carpet Place Community Stadium.
Our visitors arrive from Step 6 Midland Football League Division One, where they currently sit 13th with 15 points from their opening 9 matches. They’ve had a mixed start to the season but boast plenty of attacking threat, with Cheirry Barry (4 goals), Luke Keen (3 goals) and Harry Jackson (3 goals) among their top contributors. Their recent Vase form saw them progress past Smethwick Rangers on penalties, before a strong 5–3 win against Cradley Town in the league underlined their scoring ability.
Chelmsley come into the tie off the back of a 5–2 away victory at Allexton & New Parks and a 2–1 home win over Smethwick, showing they are in good form and difficult opponents.
For Pershore, the FA Vase offers another chance to build momentum after a strong performance in the league last time out. Like Chelmsley, Pershore progressed via penalties in the previous round after drawing with Hinckley in normal time. With the support of the Plum faithful behind them, the squad will be aiming to progress into the First Round Proper and keep the Vase journey alive.
⚽ It promises to be an exciting contest — get down to the Community Stadium and back the lads!
