Pershore face a stern test this Saturday as they travel to the Causeway Ground to take on a Cinderford Town side rejuvenated under new management.
Cinderford come into the game full of confidence after an emphatic 4–0 win away at promotion-chasing Droitwich Spa last weekend. That result followed a busy period of change, with new faces added to the squad including Jack Watts and Harry Leeson from Step 4 promotion chasers Bishops Cleeve, Tom Chamberlain from Fairford Town, and the return of Drew Heffernan to the club.
The hosts’ recent form highlights their threat, and Pershore will be well aware of the challenge ahead against a side clearly gathering momentum.
The two sides met back in November at the The Carpet Place Community Stadium, playing out a goalless draw. On that occasion Pershore enjoyed long spells of possession but were unable to find a breakthrough against a disciplined Cinderford defence. Saturday’s contest is likely to pose a different challenge altogether, with the Forest of Dean side looking sharper and more aggressive following recent changes.
Pershore will be aiming to build on recent performances, knowing that concentration, discipline and efficiency at both ends of the pitch will be vital if they are to take anything from what promises to be a tough afternoon.
