Match Preview: Highworth Town vs Pershore Town

Match Preview: Highworth Town vs Pershore Town

Club News26 Dec - 16:34

Pershore head to Highworth for a festive clash, facing a side four points above with games in hand. A tough test as the Plums seek momentum.

Pershore Town make the trip to Highworth Town on Saturday afternoon knowing they face a well-organised side sitting one place and four points above them in the table, albeit having played two games more than the Plums.

Highworth have enjoyed a solid campaign to date and arrive in good form, having picked up back-to-back wins in league and cup action. Last weekend they recorded an impressive 2–0 home victory over Roman Glass St George, following a 3–1 away win at Hallen in midweek cup competition. Their results show a side that are difficult to beat, particularly on home soil, with a number of tight, low-scoring games across the season.

They have also shown resilience against strong opposition, with positive results against the likes of Corsham Town, Westfields, and Cribbs, and will be confident of extending their advantage over Pershore in the table.

Pershore, meanwhile, will be looking to turn encouraging performances into results. Recent weeks have been frustrating, with several games where the Plums have been competitive but lacked the final touch in front of goal. With the table still tight, this fixture offers a chance to close the gap on a direct rival despite Highworth’s games in hand.

Parking:
Parking is very limited, supporters should park at The Community Golf Course/Highworth Juniors entrance, to the south of the ground, off Swindon Road. They have a turnstile open at that end of the ground for those parking there.
