The Plums come into the match on the back of two below-par performances by their own standards. One saw us progress in the cup, while the other ended with a frustrating blank against Droitwich on Monday. There were signs of tired legs and minds, especially in the Droitwich game, so we’ve adjusted the plan this week to ensure the lads are ready to go this afternoon.
On the injury front, we’re still waiting on a few decisions, it is unlikely Macca King or Tyrese Griffin will be involved, there is some hope Reece Day and Elliott Sumnall may be in contention, while we continue to be without Harvey White and Jack Griffiths-Perry, with Jude Hill also unavailable this weekend.
It’s important that we get back to winning ways quickly and regain the momentum we had started to build earlier in the month. We’ll be doing everything possible to make sure that begins today.
We’ve asked a lot of this young and relatively inexperienced squad through August, with a relentless fixture schedule. On the whole, they’ve responded really positively. There are still plenty of things we’ll keep working on, but once we get past Monday’s trip to Hereford Pegasus the schedule does ease to mostly Saturdays, which will allow us to prepare in more detail for each game.
It was brilliant to see such a strong crowd on Monday against Droitwich, and hopefully we’ll see another great turnout today to get behind the boys.
