Pershore return home this weekend for a tough test against promotion-chasing Slimbridge, who currently sit 4th in the Hellenic League Premier Division, despite coming into the game off the back of two consecutive league defeats.
Slimbridge have been one of the division’s most dangerous attacking sides this season and will pose a significant challenge. A key threat comes from midfield in the form of Jack W Smith, Slimbridge's standout goalscorer with 16 league goals, underlining Slimbridge’s ability to hurt teams from all areas of the pitch.
The visitors will also be confident given the reverse fixture earlier in the season, when they recorded a convincing victory over Pershore. However, the Plums will take encouragement from recent performances and a hard-earned win at Cirencester last time out, which lifted confidence and momentum.
There’s also an added subplot with Dan Hanson recently joining Pershore from Slimbridge, and the midfielder will be keen to make an impact against his former club if involved.
With three home games on the bounce in February, Pershore will be looking to make home advantage count against a side firmly in the promotion picture.
