Match Preview: Pershore vs Royal Wootton Bassett

Club News24 Oct - 10:04

Pershore Town host Royal Wootton Bassett on Saturday (3pm) at the Community Stadium, aiming to turn strong performances into points.

Pershore Town return to home action this weekend as they welcome Royal Wootton Bassett Town to the Community Stadium for what promises to be another competitive Hellenic Premier fixture.

After a solid run of performances attention now turns to another tough test against a side who came out victorious last time they both met, winning 2-1 at the Community Stadium back in March.

The Opposition
Royal Wootton Bassett come into the game looking to rediscover their early season form after a difficult recent spell. Their last league outing saw them suffer a heavy defeat away at Worcester Raiders (7–2), following a 1–1 draw against Westfields and narrow losses to Droitwich Spa and Tuffley Rovers.

Despite that run, Bassett have proven they can find the net — scoring in all of their last six fixtures — and have recorded notable wins over Cribbs and Corsham earlier in the campaign.

Ben Cleary leads the way on the goal front with 4 league goals to date.

From a Pershore perspective
For Pershore, the focus will be on maintaining the momentum and levels shown in recent weeks. The team have competed well across a tough set of fixtures, with signs of real progression both in and out of possession.

The management team have spoken about closing fine margins and being more clinical in key moments — and with another good crowd expected, they’ll be hoping to turn solid performances into points after last weeks narrow home defeat to Westfields.

With the home faithful continuing to back the squad in numbers, Pershore will aim to build on their improving performances and keep climbing the Hellenic Premier standings.
