Pershore Town backed up a midweek win away to Bewdley Town with a big win away at Fairford Town in the Hellenic League yesterday.

Pershore, who had lost to Sporting Club Inkberrow in their previous league fixture, were challenged with a reaction against Bewdley and Fairford Town.

The Plums took a 1 - 0 lead in the first half, Bailey Fuller picking out Ben Tilbury inside the Fairford box to tuck home although the hosts did pile on the pressure towards the end of the opening half.

Second half saw Janes' side take complete control of the tie with further goals from James Baldwin, Bailey Fuller, Peter Tonchev and Zaq Hussain securing a 5 - 0 win over a high flying Fairford Town side.

Janes was quick to praise his players following the win, claiming the performance as the best one of the season and the result too.

The Plums will now host Malmesbury Victoria on Saturday after not featuring at the Recruit 12 Community Stadium since the first week in October.

"Our best performance and result of the season." said Janes.

"Fairford are right up there and they are a good side, their quality was clear throughout the game.

"They are well coached and have a clear idea in terms of their play, we had to adjust to their box midfield and their transition to two forwards.

"We had every player at the level required today, and when you have that consistency through the team then those sort of performances are possible.

"The desire and accountability shown by the players was so pleasing for me. No one looked for excuses in bad moments, they took responsibility and they carried out the tactical plan, and they carried it out with real quality.

"I thought defensively we were fantastic as a team. Fairford had some dangerous moments but the players came through those moments.

"I was delighted with our attacking play, the forward runs, the decision making and final details of quality won us the game.

"We have scored five goals, kept a clean sheet and played some excellent football. This group have the ability to deliver results of that manner, consistency has been our issue this season so they know that the next game is another opportunity to perform.

"I am critical of the group because I think so highly of them, but I am also quick to praise them when they deserve it and they deserve all of the plaudits from that performance."
