In a game played at Cirencester Town's Talent Hire Stadium, due to complications with Malmesbury's home ground, The Plums produced a dominant performance against the leagues basement side.
It was the 'hosts' that came out the blocks quickly, pressing Pershore high up the pitch but The Plums showed composure to play through the press which then saw Malmesbury begin to sit deeper and compact the pitch to nullify spaces.
It took until mid-way through the first half for Aidan Clark to open the scoring, his first of three, a Jake Donnelly long through was headed on at the front post which the keeper got down low to save but it fell straight to Clark to stroke home from close range.
Whilst chances came and went during the half, it was just before half-time when James Baldwin doubled the lead after rounding the Vics keeper. James Douglas threaded a delightful ball through the Malmesbury defence for Baldwin to gather up before firing into an empty net.
Just moments later and two became three, Zaq Hussain this time with a fantastic ball behind the Malmesbury defence and it was Aidan Clark's turn once more to run through and finish on the turn.
It didn't take long into the second half for Clark to add his third for the afternoon, Hussain playing Reiss Taylor-Randle in down the right channel, his delivery was perfect for Aidan to race onto and tuck the ball into the corner.
The fifth, and final goal of the afternoon, came via James Baldwin this time. Zaq Hussain himself delivering from the right this time and whilst Ben Tilbury looked certain to bundle the ball over the line, it somehow found it's way to Baldwin on the back post to head home.
A fairly comfortable afternoon for Danny Janes' side who will now quickly turn their attentions to Hartpury University away on Tuesday evening.
"A good win, and without sounding disrespectful to Malmesbury, it is a game we are expected to win." said Janes.
"We knew there would be difficult moments in the game, Malmesbury I expected to restrict space and try to capitalise on our mistakes, they did that but they also came and pressed us at times.
"We scored some good goals, we should have had a lot more and I know the four out of six forward players involved in the game will be disappointed they didn't score.
"I thought we played some excellent football, we still lack that game understanding at times and that is something we need to keep looking to develop.
"Three points, a clean sheet, we now focus on Tuesday."
