A chance to check out the results throughout Pershore Town Football Club from the past week.

The week started on Thursday evening as Mike Bishops U18 Floodlit team took on Boldmere St Micheals in the Colin Lowe League cup. A hat-trick for Joel Masters and goals from Archie Thurston and Thomas Gnyla sealed the 5-0 victory for ‘The Plums’ and progression into the next round of the cup.

Andy Medler’s U8s came up against Droitwich Vipers this weekend where they showed the great quality this team have and look to carry this on in the remaining of the season. The management team couldn’t be happier with this team at the moment.

Tim Brown’s U9s played against Alcester in a cup fixture this weekend, a fantastic performance by this team against a team who hadn’t lost yet this season. Plenty of things for manager Tim to be proud of.

Pete Davis’ U11 came up against Sheppey Swifts which was going to be a great test for these boys. A fantastic performance by the players which showed recent games and training are having the desired effects and the boys are learning each week.

Rich Morley’s U13s played Ashton FC which they were expecting to have a tight game against but a fantastic performance from the squad, the football played was brilliant and they came out of the game convincing 7-1 winners. Two braces in the game by Harry and Charlie.

John Dean’s U12 Bullets faced Illmington Scorpions at home this week where they showed a great performance and attitude which both players and management can be proud of. Goals from Reece Yarnold and Luke Chandler gave the Bullets a well-deserved 3 points.

Jason Neville’s U13 Bullets played against Crowle Searchers away from home this weekend which was always going to be tough fixture with their opponents only dropping points in one previous fixture this season. A great performance by the Bullets meant they came away with a valuable point.

Stu Townsend’s U15s faced Wotton Rovers who sit 2nd of the table in the Seven Valley League. A game which was controlled by ‘The Plums’ and showed their quality by leading 2 nil at the break. It was 3 nil early in the second half and the league fixture ended 3-1. A fantastic performance by this team and one the players can be very proud of.

Simon Hulse’s U16 Plums came up against a very strong Shrewsbury Town which was a tough game start to finish, the fixture ended with a 9-1 loss. Players and management now look to reset and move forward from this result as they face old Wulfrunians next week.

Danny Hilditch’s U16s faced Hereford Futsal Hawks where some of the football which was played in the first half was some of the best football this side have ever played together. Leading 8-0 at half time. Five goals from Charlie Shore-Nye and a brace from Callum Jenkinson helped Pershore run out 10-0 winners.

Jay Widdett’s U18s had a frustrating morning against Newcastle town in the MJPL. After taking the lead with a well worked goal. ‘The Plums’ then gave away two cheap goals before half time and went into the break 2-1 down. Jay asked for a better response in the second half and that is what he received from his team with the U18s getting an equaliser. They kept pushing for the winner, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Onto Sunday and Stu Townsend’s U15s took on Bishops Cleeve in a Cheltenham Youth League fixture. Plenty of changes for both sides throughout the whole game but both goals of the game were shared in the first half. Game finishing 1-1 and the points shared. There is still lots to take on board for this new group of players which are improving week by week.
