Results Round-Up; Pershore Town

Club Admin21 Oct 2024 - 15:38

Another weekend with plenty more positive results at Pershore Town Football Club, we'll review them all below.

We begin this time on Friday, Jason Neville's Under 14 Bullets' welcomed Evesham United to the Recruit 12 Community Stadium for an Ambassador Cup fixture under the lights. Anthony Neville gave The Plums the lead in this one but they were heavily reliant on Levi Rushton at the other end to make some big saves towards the end. Pershore Town progressing into the next round with a 1 - 0 win over local rivals.

Onto Saturday morning and Tory Hall's Under 8's hosted Shipston Excelsior. The Plums coming away the happier of the two sides in this one, Luca, Danni and Harry all on the scoresheet whilst Thomas Kimberley was voted Player of the Match.

Andy Medler's Under 9's faced the long journey to Rushall Olympic on Saturday morning for an MJPL fixture. The MJPL proved to be a really tough league, as expected, for these young Plums who gave another fantastic account of themselves despite defeat. Harry got himself on the scoresheet once again and picked up another for for man of the match.

Tim Brown's Under 10's were knocked out of the Ambassador Cup at home to Bredon in a close fought encounter. A performance that saw Harry Knowles and Harry OG on the scoresheet for The Plums and leave manager, Tim, really proud of his side.

Tim Brown's Under 11's did manage to progress in the Ambassador Cup as they hosted Broadway. A big shout out to Ollie GD in this game who scored a hat-trick for The Plums whilst Harry was also saved a penalty right at the end of the game.

Jenna Lienerth's Under 12 Girls' bounced back from defeat last weekend to secure a 4 - 0 win away to Newtown Sports on Saturday. It was a slow start to the game on a really boggy surface but the Plums soon got to grips with the game and dominated for the majority of the game. Summer Cropper was again in the goals, she scored twice, and Georgie-Mai Camden also found the back of the net twice.

AJ Mountain's Under 13's had a tough fixture on Saturday morning, taking on PlayRPro who play in the league above The Plums. The visitors running out 4 - 1 winners in the end, despite a fairly even first half in which The Plums managed to frustrate their higher ranked opposition. Harry Simmonds on the scoresheet in this one for AJ's side.

Jon Dean's Under 13 Bullets' dropped out of the cup in a 4 - 1 home defeat to Oldbury Park Tigers, ending a winning run of three games for The Plums. Pershore were always going to be up against it when facing Pool A opposition but a dogged performance over at Eckington ensured that Oldbury had to work tirelessly for their win. The Plums did get back into the game at 2 - 1 from a brilliant solo goal from Jude but Oldbury came again and found a way to extend their lead.

Rich Morley's Under 14's lost away to Four Oaks Elite on Saturday, with a poor start seeing The Plums 2 - 0 down early on. That said, a pearler from Dara and a calm finish from Travis had Pershore level at the break. With a large squad, Pershore made a number of changes at half time and started the second half brightly but once the hosts had their third, they ran away with the game and the result, 5 - 2 the final score.

AJ Mountain's Under 14 Girls' fell to defeat away to Newtown Sports. A brilliant game of football to watch with Pershore Town leading the game 3 - 0 at half time, Grace Mountain scoring all three. The second half began much like the first but The Plums weren't clinical enough to add to the scoreline and Newtown grew into the game. The tail of the tape is the hosts took their chances second half and Pershore didn't, Newtown running out 4 - 3 winners.

Steve Barker's Under 15's went out of the Ambassador Cup with a penalty shoot-out defeat to Westbury Celtic. Despite leading the game 3 - 1, Westbury found a way back in to level the scores 3 - 3 by full time and then ran out 4 - 3 winners on penalties.

Wayne Lomax's Under 16's ran out 2 - 0 winners over Warwick Juniors in an Ambassador Cup Second Round fixture. Jacob Rothwell opened the scored early on with a fantastic solo effort, whilst Tom Porter secured the game in which The Plums were comfortable throughout.

Onto Sunday and Wayne Lomax's Under 16's hosted a fantastic game of football against Stourport Swifts on the back pitch at the Recruit 12 Community Stadium. The Plums coming from behind to win the game 2 - 1 and secure all three points, Ethan Lomax and Will Churchley scoring in this one.

Wrapping up our Sunday football is James Moreton's Sunday Team who travelled away to Inkberrow for a Knockout Cup fixture. The Plums falling to a 1 - 0 defeat in this one, with a goal mid-way through the first half of the tie.
