

Pershore Town started their league campaign with a 3-1 defeat against Westfields last night at allpay park in front of 229 spectators.
Dan Moons team, took an early lead when Adam Saunston put Westfields ahead with a wishful effort which caught keeper Joe Cunneen out.
Westfields doubled their tally in the 15th minute. Archie Muirhead was brought down and former Pershore Town favourite Bailey Fuller, put Westfields further ahead.
Pershore tried hard to get back in the game but rarely troubled the Westfields defence.
After the interval Westfields increased their lead when Cam Davies headed home from a free kick to put Westfields into a 3-0 lead with 52 minutes on the clock.
Pershore Town came back into the game forcing a brilliant double save before the young Westfields keeper produced a full length save at the foot of the post as Pershore came back strong.
The Plums grabbed a late consolation goal when Ewan Carter scored from close range from a well worked move in the dying minutes of what was an entertaining match in which Westfields took the 3 points.
