Pershore welcomed Hallen to The That Carpet Place Community Stadium with the visitors arriving in confident mood following their 3–0 victory in the FA Vase Last 16.
The first opportunity of the afternoon came inside the opening minute when Reece Day won back possession and released Jack Griffiths Perry down the flank. His through ball narrowly evaded Jamie Lucas and ran safely through to the goalkeeper.
However, Hallen struck early. A defender was allowed to carry the ball out from the back and his long delivery was flicked on, sending Harrison Fairman through. The forward showed composure to slot past the advancing Joe Cunneen and give the visitors the lead.
Moments later a midfield turnover allowed Hallen to break again, with Fairman once more finding space in behind, but this time he fired over under pressure from Elliott Sumnall.
Pershore began to settle and on 20 minutes Tino Shumba saw a dipping long-range effort spilled by the Hallen goalkeeper, who recovered quickly to deny Lucas any follow-up opportunity.
On the half-hour mark a short corner routine eventually delivered into the box required a sharp defensive block to prevent Hallen doubling their advantage. At the other end, Lucas flashed a fierce effort narrowly wide as Pershore searched for an equaliser.
But on the stroke of half-time the visitors extended their lead. A low free-kick into the area wasn’t dealt with, and Fairman reacted quickest to turn the ball home from close range after brushing off the attention of Scott Wheeler.
The second half began with Hallen threatening again, their skipper slipping at the crucial moment after being played through by Fairman, allowing Cunneen to save with his feet.
Pershore continued to create moments. A flick from Scott Wheeler released Lucas through on goal, but a sharp reaction save denied the striker. Griffiths Perry then drove into the box on 65 minutes only to see his effort comfortably gathered.
George Hunt tried his luck from distance before a Pershore corner proved costly. Hallen broke quickly, and although Fairman was involved in the move, it was the away captain who ran the length of the pitch untracked to finish simply and seal the points.
Lucas remained a threat and was unfortunate not to pull one back with another powerful long-range strike, while Kyle Clayton saw an effort from the edge of the area blocked.
There was little between the sides in terms of clear chances, but Hallen proved far more clinical in key moments, capitalising on defensive lapses to secure a three-goal victory.
