Clark Scoops Two Awards

Pershore Town held their Presentation Evening on Saturday at the Football Club, with Sam Clark taking home two awards.

Following the Smedley Crooke Cup victory over Malvern Town, and with all three trophies on display, The Plums gathered in the Abbey Suite of the Football Club for a Presentation Evening in-front of fantastic numbers.

Manager, Danny Janes, was on the stage from the start, complementing the support he and his side have received since joining the club in November. He mentioned that the biggest achievement since coming in was seeing a side supported as well as it had been during games.

Jacqui Marler and Hayley Tomkins were firstly presented with some flowers following their hard work throughout the 2021/22 season whilst Steve Webb also picked up a crate of cider for captaining the side to success.

Tony Bradstock was voted Clubman of the year, a face that is often first at the club on match days and always found working tirelessly on the pitch ahead of games.

Next came an award from Worcester News for Player of the Season, voted for by Marcello Cossali-Francis. Sam Clark picked up the Worcester News vote with Marcello adding, "He makes everything tick, everything goes through him and he is a seriously talented footballer".

Supporters Player of the Season came next and following his heroics in a number of the Cup Shoot-outs, there was strong support for eventual winner Eddie Cox with James Baldwin coming a close second.

Kirk Layton was next to the stage, Kirk scooped Managers Player of the Season having played every minute of every games since joining the Football Club from Worcester Raiders. Kirk had picked up the most man of the match votes during the season and has produce many number of impressive displays.

Following his earlier award in the evening from Worcester News, Sam Clark returned to the stage to collect Player's Player of the Season for the 2021/22 season. A popular figure within the changing room, Sam's performances have often been the difference in games and he took home the award fairly comfortably.

There were some final light-hearted awards presented whereby Matt Ennis was acknowledge for time spent injured, Steve Webb was confirmed as old and Eddie Cox was called out for constantly moaning. Finally, and to please all those in attendance, James Baldwin was called to the stage to have it confirmed that he does indeed drink far too much.

A fantastic evening to round off an incredible season that saw The Plums secure a Cup Treble.
