Danny Janes has completed his first signing ahead of the 2022/23 season in the way of former Raiders captain.

Former Worcester Raiders captain, Logan Stoddart, has become Danny Janes' first signing ahead of the new season after the full back ended his five year spell with the Sixways' based side.

Stoddart featured thirty times for Karl Gormley's side last season despite an attempt from Janes to lure him away in February following a seven day approach.

A highly sought after defender, Janes is delighted Logan has joined Pershore despite offers from teams higher up in the National League System.

"A massive signing, and a player I have always admired but never really thought we would be able to secure." said Janes.

"We expressed an interest in Logan last season, we had a good conversation and agreed we would speak again at the end of the season as he was fully committed to Worcester Raiders, which I respected.

"Logan's technical ability and quality he has in possession is the perfect match for this team.

"Whenever I have seen him play, he has been outstanding and impacts the game massively. Defensively 1 v 1 he is very strong, he is comfortable in wide areas and will improve our defensive side of the game.

"His mentality and approach are key aspects that we identified as elements we must have this season. To win a league, players of Logan's quality and character are crucial.

"We always review a player and discuss how coachable they are, I think we can develop Logan even more as a player, we have recruited one of the best players in this league so the levels he can reach could be frightening.

"I have wanted to work with Logan for a number of years, we can't wait to see him in a Pershore Town shirt."

Stoddart has been training with Janes' side since they returned for Pre-Season on the 11th June and confirmed that it only took a couple of weeks for him to realise he wanted to play at Pershore Town.

"I had a few conversations with Danny and Tom about coming over this season." said Stoddart.

"After a couple of weeks of Pre-Season training, it was the fresh start I was looking for after leaving Raiders.

"Looking at the season ahead with the bunch of lads Danny and Tom have put together, I think we wouldn't want nothing less than to be winning the league, or definitely competing for it.

"I'm just looking forward to the season ahead now."
