Pershore Town will enter a Development Team into the Hellenic League for the 2022/23 season.

Following the first set of trials on Saturday, we caught up with Development Team manager; Adam Parker, to see how his first session went.

"It was busy leading up to Saturday. We’ve been looking at attracting new players to come down and then plan a session based on numbers." said Parker.

"We had around 25 people there and then a number that couldn't make it. We wanted to see the lads on the ball as much as possible, we planned our session to ensure this happened.

"We came away really positive. There were some really talented players there who performed well throughout.

"We'll train again this Saturday but we've already had to make some tough decisions on who we’d like to invite back and are expecting those who couldn’t make last week, to be there this week.

"From those players now coming this week, we are expecting the quality level to increase.

"We've had to re-adjust slightly what with our season now starting in September, we had originally planned for August.

"We'll complete these trials and then break away before pre-season can begin in July, this will give us two months to prepare for that opening game.

"Our schedule is set, we have a full pre-season set-up ready to go with our friendlies all booked in to complement the sessions we will deliver.

"I am conscious that some players played a lot of football last season so a break will be good for them, on the flip side I know some players will benefit from some solely fitness based sessions so I will be looking to put those on in the break.

"Ultimately my target is to push players towards our First Team. It’s been great to work so closely with DJ and Tom. They’ve welcomed me with open arms and given me all access to training and games.

"I watched them train on Saturday and I will do so again on Wednesday night; the standards are high and that's what I'm looking to create in my team."
