Pershore Town saw if a spirited Shortwood United on Monday to progress to the Supplementary Cup Semi Final.

It took until halfway through the second half for Danny Janes' side to ripple the net of former Plums keeper, Rob Sims.

Shortwood turned up looking to frustrate a Pershore side, defending in numbers within their own half.

Whilst Janes' side dominated the game in terms of possession they found it tough to create an opening to force the game to open out.

It was substitute Baldwin that scored the winner; Jordan Jones slid the ball down the right for Jakes Cavens to latch onto, he drove towards goal before pulling the ball back to Baldwin to slot home.

Pershore's Semi Final opponents remain a mystery but Janes knows his side have a bigger game to come.

"It was a frustrating game, Shortwood sat 10 men behind the ball and had no intention of trying to attack." said Janes.

"When a team sit in like that it is always difficult, especially on a dry pitch where the ball pops up and slows down any fluency.

"We had some really good moments where we were patient with the ball, we played some fantastic forward passes and looked a threat.

"Individual decision making and quality impacted us today. We never really worked their goalkeeper even though we got into some great positions.

"The players know they need to be a lot better on Saturday if we are to come away with a result.

"We take the positives, we are one game away from another final, it’s another win and second clean sheet in a row."
